Who We Are
The Public Dispatch is an independent digital newsroom dedicated to journalism that matters. We cover the stories that others shy away from — corruption, abuse of power, the AI revolution reshaping our continent, and the communities fighting for a better future.
Our mission is simple: uncover what others conceal, challenge those in power, and amplify the voices that matter. At The Public Dispatch, journalism isn't about comfort — it's about impact. We question, we expose, and we tell it as it is.
"The truth does not need an army to defend it. It only needs journalists who refuse to be silenced."
"At The Public Dispatch, accountability journalism is free. Always. The people who need to know what power is doing shouldn't have to pay to find out."
Our Editorial Standards
Every story published by The Public Dispatch meets a rigorous standard: at least two independent sources, editorial review, and a commitment to giving all subjects the right of reply before publication.
We clearly label opinion content, correct errors transparently, and never accept payment to cover or suppress stories. Our funding comes from reader subscriptions and independent grants — never from the governments or corporations we cover.
We believe The Public Dispatch's story deserves to be told by The Public Dispatchns, with full context, complexity, and nuance — not through the narrow lens of foreign media organisations with little understanding of our continent.
