Acclaimed South African vocalist Judith Sephuma is set to make a powerful return to the stage with her upcoming production, Judith Sephuma Live in Concert.
South Africa’s "Queen of Afro Jazz," Judith Sephuma, is set to grace the stage for a deeply personal and powerful production: Judith Sephuma Live in Concert.
This one-night-only event will take place on 4 July 2026 at the prestigious Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace.
A journey through sound and spirit
This specially curated two-hour concert offers more than just a performance, it is a musical journey through the many dimensions of Sephuma’s artistry. Audiences can expect a rich blend of her beloved Afro Jazz repertoire, alongside selections from her gospel catalogue and music from her recent album When Winter Fades, which earned a nomination for Best Jazz Album at the Metro FM Awards.
Adding to the excitement, Sephuma will also introduce brand-new gospel material, marking a fresh and meaningful chapter in her evolving career.
Responding to the call of her audience
Over the years, Sephuma has established herself as one of South Africa’s most respected and versatile vocalists, effortlessly moving between Afro Jazz and gospel. While her Afro Jazz work has continued to grow, her gospel roots have remained close to her heart and to her audience.
“Since my My Worship project in 2017, I have not returned to gospel in a dedicated way, even though I continue to receive messages from fans asking for it,” she said.
"I have heard those requests, and this concert is my way of responding, by bringing everything together in one experience.”
A musical homecoming
Judith Sephuma Live in Concert is more than a performance; it is an emotionally rich celebration of a career that spans decades. The evening promises to move between moments of quiet reflection and exuberant celebration, all anchored by Sephuma’s signature vocal brilliance and storytelling mastery.
"This is not just a concert. It is a musical homecoming that honours my past, celebrates my present, and opens the door to new creative expressions," she said.
